1950s G plan armchair

description & details

A beautiful mid century armchair produced by G plan 1956.

This chair appeared in an advert in the 'Radio Times' 31 Aug 1956 notes: 'New Luxury Look for your Home. Styling with Italian inspiration gives your rooms new grace and elegance

We have had this newly and professionally re-upholstered using a gorgeous soft heavyweight linen by Romo which is a stunning mid blue colour its a beautiful and subtly textured fabric. It has an understated luxurious feel/appearance to it and suits the chair very well giving them a contemporary feel, but is also not too dissimilar to their original fabric so in keeping with the age/era.

The legs retain their original ebonised finish which is in fair condition considering their age/use. A fair amount of wear and tear can be noted when looking up close but as the upholstery has been done so beautifully this really does pale into insignificance when viewed overall, and of course is in keeping with any vintage piece. Price is per chair.
