A beautiful pair of British mid century armchairs, circa late 50s/early 60s.
Stunning and very well constructed chairs, solid and heavy Beech inner frames with ebonised beech legs, finished with little brass feet, typical of the era.
Excellent design and form, quite pretty I think, with more of an unusual shape to the back rest thank the norm. Slightly tapered out arms and a subtle recline to the back which create a very comfortable and cosy ‘sit’.
Both chairs have been newly and professionally re-upholstered using a gorgeous soft heavyweight linen by Romo fabrics from their ‘Relax’ range which is a stunning mid blue colour its a beautiful and subtly textured fabric.
It has an understated luxurious feel/appearance to it and suits the chairs very well giving them a contemporary feel, but is also not too dissimilar to their original fabric so in keeping with the age/era.
The buttons are a lime green/ yellowy Harlequin linen fabric, which is from Harlequins Tamika range, its looks just great against the blue creating a striking but liveable combination!
These chairs which will certainly make a very good practical statement, and will work perfectly in any mid century/vintage inspired interior.
